Who can Apply?

Fully certified green building projects that are in operation for at least two years are eligible to apply. The challenge is open to all building typologies including non-residential, residential and industrial building projects. Projects can apply under the following categories

How to Apply

The application for 'Performance Challenge for Green Built Environment' is a simple process. Project coordinator shall register and submit the performance data to IGBC through the web portal


Registration open    1 Jun 2019 to 31 Aug 2019
Announcement of shortlisted projects    31 Aug 2019
Jury meeting    1st week of Sep, 2019
Announcement of top performers    10 Sep 2019

Evaluation Criteria

Projects would be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Energy and Water Performance, given the typology and location of the building

  • Performance during the preceding two years

  • Performance of the building with respect to the National and International benchmarks

  • Approach & methodology for maintaining acceptable indoor environment quality & waste management

  • Vision and plans for way forward

Jury Panel

Evaluation would be carried out by eminent panel of jury members comprising of senior professionals drawn from building sector and academia.


Data sought is purely for evaluation and would be kept confidential.
